How could I not review thee? : D

I like this, Fuoco. It sets a really nice mood. It's like semi-calm, but march-like also. I like your choice of instrumentation also, that guitar-ish thing was nice : D And the oboe was beautifully written.

0:32 - 0:47 is my favorite part. I dunno why haha. Only thing that I would say could improve is probably...a more involving melody. It's mostly just tone. I say, it's a video game piece, so it needs to stay in your head!

But still, it's a lovely piece. Great work.

8/10, but 5/5 : D

Rocky

Fuoco responds:

You're so kind :)
I'm really glad I didn't decided to change the guitar, this wouldn't be the same without it.
0:32-0:47 is also my favorite part, probably because I like sweet, gentle tunes.

I see what you mean. It's still hard for me to catch a melody and work on it, to "juice it up". But is not impossible so I'll try to do what you say next time. Promise :D

Thanks for your time man. I really appreciatte it!

This is a very nicely done song, Mr. Rage. Congrats! Lol

The mood this creates is very nice, let me start off by saying. It really does feel like something you would hear whilst traversing a medieval landscape : D

And now let me tell you what this makes me think of. The wind is gentle as it plays with the tree branches and ruffles the main guy's hair. And then - the brass - he starts feeling noble for some reason and then his quest like begins and stuff. The strings are really making it feel like an important quest. He doesn't need a horse - his legs will do just fine. Over many hills he travels. And then it calms down again - he's camping out at night in some mountainous place, a fire slowly burning.

And then the mandolins. I was like >: D Nice touch! At this point he begins to feel some kind of longing in his heart :' ( He's not too sure what it is - this is represented by the main theme again. It is not a clearly defined theme, but more of a feeling, just like what's going on in his heart. Does he want to go on with this quest?

And then he stands as before. The wind caresses him. Encourages him. He goes on.

I do love the ending, nice and calm and consistent with the mood. This song can be relaxing and enpowering. Nicely done.

A very nice job, Maestro. 9/10 but a 5/5 from the me.

MaestroRage responds:

When did this review get here?! I say sir, I have missed it :(. I apologize. If it wasn't hard enough to keep track of reviews before the redesign, GOD HELP ME NOW >:(!!! I hope they change that soon.

This song to be honest, can't be used in the contest, because it's over 2 minutes! I have to make a MAC edit for it soon! OH NOES I SAY! OH NOES!

Also his legs are made out of Chuck Norris. They'll do JUST fine thank you.

The edit will cut out much of the calm parts, as they just won't fit in within the time frame, but I do appreciate the review MR! Thankies for it. I'm glad you liked it ^^.

You win.

Yes.

Winterwind-NS responds:

yes

Man, you're so amazing.

As always. Seriously, I mean it.

I think one of your strong points is orchestration, the way your instruments interact is powerful, but I think your real good stuff lies in your melodies. Some of your melodies are just so incredible man - such as the theme of your adagio mvnt in your concerto - that just stay with you. And this theme is no different - it really shows the great battle type medieval feeling of Castle Crashers. I hope you win man, 'cause you deserve it.

That one guy (what's my name again?)

Oh yeah -

First off, I like the mood this creates. Very serene, and somewhat sad. It's very pretty though. Also, even though the song isn't like angry or excited, the first chord has quite a force to it, giving the feeling of a very powerful sadness.

I like the melody; it's very simple. Not too complicated, which, I think, compliments a piece like this.

Very nice harmony, I think. No dead or boring chords, and I very much like the progressions you use.

All in all, a very nice piece. I like it a lot :D Keep it up man.

Rocky

P.S. I can tell you get some influence from Winter :D

Fuoco responds:

The mood is precisely what I was aiming for :D
About the melody, it's still very hard for me to create a long melody, and sticky, without messing it up :(. Still, I'm working on it. Maybe I should take classes :p

Influence from Winter?
Yes :), he's one of my favorite composers.

Thanks for reviewing!!

Okay man. This is a good piece. I don't normally listen to techno, but whatever. I can't enjoy any genre (except rap) if it's well made.

I don't know anything about how to make electronic music with Fruity. So yeah...I really have no idea how this was made lol.

I like the little countdowns, though that's pretty obviously what the piece is named after. The piano is a really nice touch. (Pianos own all.) The main theme is pretty catchy too man.

Btw the shrieking thing at 0:36 and other parts makes it seem a bit scarier too (not a bad thing). A minor was a good choice of key too. Simple, but effective.

It's a really good song. Tell whoever you worked with that you and he can pat yourselves on the back.

Thanks Rocky! :D I will go listen to your music now. I am about to post another song on here too if you would like to hear that as well.

REVIEW'D!!!!

Hm...hello.

Uhh nice job w/ the left hand. It wasn't too generic this time. lol Good thing you changed it kinda later. Not really.

I really like the melody. It's like sad/mysterious/confused all kindsa stuff. Nice recap at 2:00. I like how each time you reuse the theme, it's like returning to a familiar place. I like how it goes into octaves near the end. I don't really have a favorite part. I like it all. Nice chordal work too overall, I like.

Great jarb. Another addition to the file of Winterwind's Romantic piano lol.

Have a cake.

Fanks home boy lol
that was messed up wut u said about my left hand lol

thanks for the review, kinda.. not really...

WW-ns (lol!)

Very nice

This was very nice, calm in relaxing even. Hm...I don't really think it belongs in Classical though. Sounds a bit more like jazz if you ask me. Great job at playing the song. I really liked the melody, but I feel you could've taken a break from it and done something a little different somewhere.

Nonetheless, lovely work. I hope to hear more like this.

jackie1188 responds:

Its kind of a mix of classical and Jazz.
But I think its more based on classical music, thats why I put it here.
Maybe there some jazz-pierces to come.

Dear Maestro,

:'(

Great song.

MaestroSorrow responds:

*death*

heh, inside joke guys.

Thanks MusicalRocky, keep up the good fight.

Cool

The sound of a real piano is quite lovely, especially after listening to my Midi stuff >:(

Wow, I was pleasantly surprised when I started listening to the melody. The whole piece actually strike me as creepy. Also a hint of sad, but very creepy.

I like that big melody jump at the beginning. Very surprising. Also like that you started off in the v chord. Nice.

Nice key. E minor is cool. Darn, I wish I had more to say. Nice job, man.

MusicalRocky

WinTang responds:

Thanks!! Creepy is what it should be, that's why it gradually drops the common harmonization and ends in shrill dissonance.

(Actually, it's in G major, and it starts there, but it has the B in the bass)

Thanks man and I'll get working on your piece soon. Cheers.

Hey guys, sorry I've been inactive recently. I'm working currently on two songs. So hopefully expect some submissions soon! Also, the best way to contact me is at my email: marshall.rocky@gmail .com If you PM me here, I may not read it for a while!
