wow

This is the most original thing I've heard in a while (including my own work). I love the tone. I also love the main melody. When the violin comes in and plays, that was cool. The wind instrument is the main influence on the overall tone, flow, and story of the song. I thought it was wonderful. I don't know what it is though (flute, piccolo, etc.).
I have no suggestions. Keep working hard.

LJCoffee responds:

(flute, piccolo, etc.):
It's all a mish-mash of various VSTi's,
The beginning is mostly Reaktor 5 "SteamPipe" and the "real" strings are from the Reason orchester soundbank.

Anyways - 8 or 10 instances of Reaktor 5 - Reason 3 rewired - all sequenced in AcidPro.

over the next few weeks/months I'll be attempting to submit to each genre on NG - keep an eye out for them.

Thanks for the review!

the piano part

The voices sound cool. So do the strings. The beat is good. This song does remind me of war, kind of, not that I've been in a war.

When that piano came in, it was awesome. It was cool how the song faded out.

I hate giving people below a 5 if I have no suggestions, so I'm giving you a 5.

Good job. Keep it up.

Jimbobsthebest responds:

I always tend to go over the top with piano things! I guess i'm just really fond of the whole piano sound.

I'm always sceptical of the whole choir thing as it always sounds so fake and glamerous which I really dislike. Nevermind,

Thanks again, James

Real orchestra

I love the sound of a real orchestra! Haha, I'm the first to review! Mwahaha!

Anyway. I'm still listening...I like the plaintive string at the beginning. And then that jolly tune, or something. That's nice. I'm very appreciative of classical music like this.

The song really creates a mood. This sounds incredibly professional. It actually sounds like a cross between a symphonic movement and some kind of orchestral film song. It's very cool.

I just can't stop listening to this song lol.

The use of strings is very good.

I don't know much about sonata form. Or sonatas either. But cool sonata.

Dude, I wish I could get an orchestra to play my songs! That would freaking rock! Actually, I haven't made any orchestral songs...but back to your song...

Still listening...The ending is very good. Liked it a lot.

I feel there should have been a moment in the song where there was a burst of energy, where the strings go insane. But maybe you wanted it calm and stuff. I don't know. Maybe you can work on something like that in the next movement.

Well, there, a review. Check out my work sometime!

Rocky

Mieloch responds:

Thanks rocky for the feedback. I agree I should have had a longer climax to the piece. I wrote this very quickly over the course of about 3 days as I was trying to meet the deadline for the orchesta competition. I was lucky to win the competition and get this recorded performance. I have a better quality version on http://www.myspace.com/davidmielochcomposer

I can't decide

I don't know which is better, this or "Dancing With Darkness."

Oh, well. This song is awesome. Of course I knew it would be because you did it.

VERY fast waltz beat. Very cool. All those strings sound awesome.

That beat is good and goes along well with the song.

This song is awesome, and you get a 5/5 and the knowledge that yet another person liked this song!

Check out my "Shadow Waltz." It has no reviews.

MaestroSorrow responds:

I'll be sure to check it out, I appreciate knowing you liked it also.

I have decided though, to put this song on hold for a while. My computer simply can't handle what I want to do with this song, and so I am forced to just wait until I get a new comp. For now, this IS the final version... T-T.

Thanks for the review.

Full of it

This song is definitely full of energy. That voice was cool, but I couldn't hear what it said. Who cares?

The drums were good. Loud. Energetic. I guess that's what you were going for. Yeah, it loops well too.

Good song. Check out my newer submissions. They got zero voted to death, and I have't got any reviews. Thanks.

Jimbobsthebest responds:

Alright again Rocky,

I'll make sure to check out your newer stuff.

Thanks for the review, James

Reviewing as I listen

The first thing I noticed was, "whoa, getting louder." Stupid, I know, but it's me we're talking about.

I don't usually hear techno like this (or at least the beginning. Haven't heard the whole thing yet). It's a diverse pleasure.

The "beeping" noise that sounds like some kind of...I don't know...machine...yeah, that's cool. The sirens too.

Wow it's loud. And then that subtle drum beat. That's cool.

The song doesn't really change much. It generally stays the same volume and there's no variation in beat. It's a great song and really creates and atmosphere, but I feel if there was MORE, you know, *MORE*, it would be better. Some parts where it's faster, or some really loud parts with insane rhythms...I don't know.

Great job.

Jimbobsthebest responds:

Wicked review man. I can't remember but I think its this song a few people have said add a hi-hat something or other so I recon that may thicken it out a bit and give it a bit of variation. I kind of went for a progressive, minimalist piece here, but I think I maybe went a little too minimaist, lol. Thanks for the review man,

James

I'm returning the favor

Since you reviewed my "Fly Higher," I shall now review all of your songs. Prepare. . . .

This song was cool. The synths throughout the song were excellently simple, yet complex. The joining synths that play the up and down notes were good.

I don't normally listen to or review this type of song, so there's not really any suggestions I can give...sorry :(

Keep making music, man.

Jimbobsthebest responds:

Cheers for another review man, its much appreciated and cool of you to give some feedback. I'm pleased you liked the synths. It's always hard to make suggestions to other peoples work man so I'll let you off just this once ;)

James

Excellent song

That bird whistle is cool. That cool occasional TINK of the bell-like thing is cool too.

The melody has a very calmness about it. The whole song is calm. It makes me think of a beach or some other beautiful place in nature.

Does "Viano" mean Violin/Piano?

Dude that voice is awesome. It really adds to the atmosphere that the song creates. MaestroSorrow and MilkMan_Dan, you have made another excellent song together. Are you doing another collab?

Btw, MaestroSorrow, could you listen to my work?

MaestroSorrow responds:

Yes, Viano is a mix of Violin/Piano, I feel so special for making up a new word :D!

And yes, many more collabs are coming.

And yes, i'll check out your stuff ^^.

Awesome melody

Oh, my gosh, MilkMan_Dan, that melody rocks.

I like the synths at the beginning. And then that piano comes in with the melody and I was caught up in the song.

I think the song flows very well. That percussive stuff is awesome with the melody and synths.

Usually if a song is this short, I'd say it needs to be longer, but this song feels the right length.

Good job, MilkMan_Dan.

P.S. Please look at my songs. I only have four reviews.

MilkMan-Dan responds:

Your songs shall have many a review when I'm done. Never you worry friend. :)... thanks for your support.

Once more, a good song

I really like the beat of this song, and the rhythm of the synths too. I like when the percussion gets fast and then those high notes start to play that main theme. And then those strings. Great, just great.

I am nodding my head to the beat as I write. The song continues to bask in its wonderful simplicity, and I love it. I would definitely download this song.

DarkOtaku responds:

Thanks!

Hey guys, sorry I've been inactive recently. I'm working currently on two songs. So hopefully expect some submissions soon! Also, the best way to contact me is at my email: marshall.rocky@gmail .com If you PM me here, I may not read it for a while!
